About Us

Rise Alliance is a church in Brisbane’s south east. Just as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so is the migration story of many of the people at Rise. Like the sun, we want people to radiate the good news of Jesus everywhere. Rise Alliance is a church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Australia.

We Value

Rest

We understand the pursuit of an ideal life, but it's exhausting to complete it. So, we value the gospel message that we are granted a full life by resting in the completed work of Jesus. Therefore, our energy is spent serving others, not extracting value from them.

Matthew 11:28-29

Heart Renewal

We understand the desire for self-improvement, but it's difficult to achieve with your own strength. So, we value being renewed by the grace found in the gospel. Therefore, we experience renewal to become like Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and in the context of community.

Psalm 139:23-24

Flourishing

We understand that hurt people, hurt people. So, we value applying the gospel to the whole person for the whole community to flourish. Therefore, we provide holistic care to individuals, advocate for justice, and work our vocation for the good of the city.

Jeremiah 29:7

Humility

We understand the impulse for certainty, but it can be abrasive. So, we value the humility to know we don't have all the answers. Therefore, we adopt a posture of curiosity, we make room for the overlooked, and we recognise we are one voice of many in our diverse city.

Philippians 2:3-4
